By May 1941, the Thistlegorm was in her home port of Glasgow being loaded with supplies essential for the British 8th Army and the relief of Tobruk. Though described on the manifest as “MT” (Motor Transport), this - probably deliberate, non-description hid a wide array of Land Mines, Shells, Ammunition, Weapons, Bedford Trucks, Armoured Cars, Bren-Carriers, BSA Motorcycles, Trailers, Vehicle spares, Aircraft and Aircraft parts, Radios, Rubber thigh-boots - and a great deal more besides. To save cargo space, the Motorcycles were placed onto the back of the Bedford trucks - three at a time before loading. Finally, being a commercial company, the Albyn Line were also taking the opportunity to deliver two sets of rolling stock to Egyptian Railways - each comprising an 0-6-0 Railway Engine, one Tender and one Water Carrier - all six items being carried as deck cargo.

Because of her classification as an “Armed Freighter” the Skipper - Captain William Ellis, had an additional team of nine Royal Navy personnel on board to man these guns. Thus it was that on 2nd June 1941 Captain Ellis ordered the mooring lines slipped before easing his ship out of Glasgow - a port that neither the ship nor nine of those on board would ever see again.

For all around performance out of a player’s racquet, the Head Liquidmetal Instinct might be one of the best choices around. We found it had no true weaknesses, and plays just as well at net as it does from the baseline.

The racquet only weighs about 11.1 ounces strung, making it extremely light and comfortable, yet still strong enough to handle heavy balls from your opponent.

We loved the way the racquet connected with our strings, and we were able to place the ball around the court as well as any racquet lets us. While it’s light and it has a bigger head, in no way will it limit your game.

We loved the power too. We found ourselves swinging at 80% of our usual racquet speed, and there was a little more oomph in our shots than usual. Serving was phenomenal, especially our second serves. They fell somewhere in between the speed of our usual second serves and our usual first serves.

While we loved what this racquet did for our ground strokes, someone using it for the first time may want to proceed with caution, as the light weight of the racquet can at first lead to some over hitting.

Our family enjoys visiting Walt Disney World as often as we can. To do so however, saving money on our trip is important. Fortunately for us, planning a discount Disney family vacation is something that I enjoy, so in this article, I will share some of the strategies we use to save money on food.

Let me say that we find visiting Disney World to be a great excuse to eat! Lots of great choices, good quality in most cases, and the fun of trying new things, all entice us to truly enjoy eating while at Disney. Still, it can be very expensive, so we have found some ways to save money while still fully enjoying all the delicious options that Walt Disney World has to offer.

To start with, we signed up for the Disney Visa card, and we use the Disney rewards solely for food. Since our visits are usually about a year apart, over the preceding year we usually accumulate a pretty large amount of Disney dollars for our meals. It is important to note that I am NOT suggesting to open a credit card and run up the total just for this purpose. But a good strategy for us has been to use one card for all of our basic purchases, and pay it off each month. It works so well for us that it is not unusual for us to hardly pay anything out of pocket for food on our Disney vacation.

Want to take a memorable trip to Las Vegas? Good choice. But the real question is what are the nicest places in Las Vegas? We want this to be memorable right? So let’s take a look at the fanciest resorts with the best service there is to offer in Las Vegas.

The biggest question is where to stay. A good place to start is the AAA Five Diamond Award winning hotels. On the strip, there is the Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian, MGM Skylofts, and the Four Seasons.

When it comes to gambling and if you like to gamble high stakes, all of these properties can accommodate the limits you like to play (except the Four Seasons, as it doesn’t offer gaming). However, most of the highest rollers tend to hang out in the Wynn, Bellagio, and Venetian.

The Bellagio hotel is the one remembered most for its elaborate fountain show outside of the hotel. This place is truly elegant, and screams of class. It has plenty of fine dining options, and really is a sight to see. While there, check out the Botanical Gardens. It is a garden display next to check in that changes seasonally.

Connecticut, one of the smallest states in the nation, is not well recognized as a tourist location. However, if you do your homework you might find that it is a pleasant place to spend your holiday. It is a place worth the visit. In the past, you may have traveled in Florida, Arizona, or Colorado, but now you wish to find more regions to visit in your country. Maybe this is the time to have a agreeable vacation exploring the Connecticut tourist areas; you’ll particularly enjoy the seaside or the gold coast in Connecticut.

The Connecticut Seaside Thirteen miles due east of New Haven there are more places to visit in the Connecticut tourist area known as Guilford. This area is perhaps the earliest Connecticut colonial community, dating back to 1639. Here, you explore many historic homes and a couple of these homes are accessible to holidaymakers.

Golf fans were all stunned today when Tiger Woods was defeated by an unknown Y.E. Yang at the PGA championship. The lead was all Tiger’s, and to have seen him blow it, well, many weren’t expecting it to put it lightly. Yang is the first ever Asian golfer to ever win a major event, and this is the first time Tiger Woods ever lost a major on the last day after having held the lead.

Yay? I don’t think the PGA, it’s sponsors, or the casual golf fan are very happy. Tiger Woods in the starter, middle reliever, and closer for the PGA. Without Tiger, as we saw last year, no one cares. Now, people are getting the feeling that Tiger has lost it. He didn’t win a major this year and pretty much choked away the PGA Championship after missing the cut at the British Open.

Woods is by no means past his prime. After returning from an injury that ended his 2008 campaign, Woods has bounced back with wins at five tournaments. Some of these involved some vintage Woods Sunday comebacks. Unfortunately, the majors are far more watched than the other tournaments, so the typical sports fan doesn’t realize that all’s not lost in Tiger’s corner.

Delaware was the very first state (of the original 13) to ratify the Constitution of the United States of America. And though it’s a tiny state-the second smallest in our nation-you’ll still find plenty of biking trails to make this a great biking destination. This small wonder is filled with rolling hills and fun challenges for bikers of all levels.

Lums Pond near Glasgow is a great ride for the entire family. This 10-mile loop is mostly easy rolling terrain. There are some bridges and even a non-paved trail that follows the creek for added interest. Watch out for equestrians and hikers and bring lots of insect repellent. Also, you might not want to ride right after a heavy rain. It can get a little muddy.

Local residents built a 10-mile bike trail abutting the Brandywine Creek State Park. Called Woodlawn Trustees, this trail area is not far from Wilmington and makes for a great ride with pleasant views. The fields and trees are especially beautiful and interesting during the summer and fall. And once you get started, you can head right on into the state park, as well, if you want to.
